A round table was held at the Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan on the role and status of women in the system of internal affairs.

   Eurasia Foundation of Central Asia-Tajikistan (EFCA-Tajikistan), with financial support of European Union, in the framework of the project "Improving the Framework for Reporting and Resolution of Gender-Based Violence (GBV) in Tajikistan" March 11, 2019 at the Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan organized a round table on the topic "The role and place of women in the development of the internal affairs bodies of the Republic of Tajikistan" 

   The event was attended by the leadership, staff and students of the Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan, representative of the Committee on Women and Family Affairs under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, as well as EFCA-Tajikistan staff. 

   The round table was opened by the Deputy Head of the Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan, Police Colonel, Candidate of Law, Saidzoda Z. The presentations were made by the Head of the Department of Languages, Police Colonel, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences Davlatshoeva A. Head of the Legal Department of the Committee for Women and Family Affairs under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan S. Bukhoriyeva, EFCA-Tajikistan Director  A. Saifiddinov, as well as students of the Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan. 

   Speakers noted the importance of the role of women in power structures and, above all, in the system of law enforcement agencies of the republic, increasing the number of women in such structures, training young qualified employees for the system of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan, which is provided in strategic documents on police reform in Tajikistan.  It was noted that the Resource Center was opened in Tajikistan on the basis of the Committee on Women and Family Affairs under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan and the telephone helpline 13 13 for victims of domestic violence. At the end of the event, participants and speakers were awarded certificates and memorable gifts.
