RFA title: “Strawberry production and mentorship program”

The Feed the Future Tajikistan Agriculture and Land Governance Activity (the Activity) is a USAID funded 5-year activity, implemented by DAI Global, is soliciting applications to invite women lead private entrepreneurs, smallholder farmers from Qubodiyon, Shahritus, Jayhun and Dustri districts for implementation of co-investment project on upgrading the strawberry production business. This project’s goal is to support producers in upgrading existing business through: 1) introduction of new technologies for production of new varieties of market-oriented strawberry, 2) build their capacity on production and business management through trainings and mentorship programs. Entrepreneurs should have strong experience, desire and resources to invest 30% of total budget (Labor, in-kind, cash). In their turn, entrepreneurs will work with ALG to provide opportunity to 20 vulnerable women and youth to transfer the gained knowledge and skills on new practices through trainings and mentorship programs during project implementation. It should increase their likelihood of being self-employed by launching startups in the next production season, generating incomes and becoming actors in the target VCs to promote inclusive employment creation.

 

This project will support two women lead entrepreneurs on upgrading the existing strawberry production business through:

 

 

• Integration of new technologies on strawberry production – installation of new greenhouses and integration of new varieties of market-oriented strawberries.

• Capacity building of entrepreneurs and 20 women and youth through trainings and mentorship programs to increase their knowledge and skill on business management.

To clarify all issues related to this EOI and ask questions, ALG is planned to hold an information session for interested potential applicants no later than 10 days before the closing date indicated above, on May 12,13, 2022, and second time on May 16, 17 2022 from 10:00 until 12:00, Dushanbe time at ALG Shahritus district, 71 Ismoili Somoni Street, Khatlon province.

EOI/Applications must be received at the Feed the Future Tajikistan Agriculture and Land Governance Activity office not later than, May 22, 2022, 18 days after the date of issuance.
